Quarantine Studio!

Since we've been placed on lockdown I haven't had access to the studio, which has made me entirely unmotivated to shoot anything. Today, however, I decided to set up my own home "studio" using things I have around the house!

It took quite a bit of fanagling to get the lighting exactly how i wanted it. I originally was only going to use window light. The plan was to use my homemade reflector (Tinfoil covering a baking tray) to bounce light onto the front of the makeup. I thought it would work since i would be getting window light from both the left and right side of my setup. However my tinfoil was not reflective enough to bounce enough light back onto the products. The backdrop is just some old black fabric hung over a curtain rod, which i weighted in place so it wouldn't be constantly moving on me.

So instead of just using natural light, i resorted to flash. However i was not using the flash in the way you 'typically' would, i changed my setting so i could have a two second long exposure and handheld my flash. I then proceeded to pop the flash off in all the angles I wanted it, being careful not to hit the backdrop. It was quite tedious and took quite a few shots to get right, but in the end i'm actually really happy with how they turned out!
